I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Weatherford when I was 14 years old. After high school, I attend ATI in Hurst for the Dental Assistant Program. I have been a dental assistant for 12 years, and I enjoy every moment of it.

I live in North Richland Hills with my four wonderful children and my loving husband, Fred. In my spare time away from the office, I enjoy organizing stuff around the house and starting new projects at home, but most of all, spending time with my family.

I graduated from Kaplan College in January of 2009 and joined Payne & Boatner in July of 2010. Throughout this wonderful year I have had great opportunities to expand my knowledge in the dental field. I really enjoy being part of the office; I think our doctors are the best teachers, super funny, and very patient with us. They make everyday enjoyable.

Outside of work I enjoy playing soccer, attending sports events with friends, spending time with my wonderful mother, going to the spa, working out, and of course, shopping.

Melissa Derby

Registered Dental Hygienist

I interact with the patients as though we are on the same team, working together toward achieving healthier teeth and gums. I work hard at making patients feel comfortable during their dental cleaning and visits. I enjoy providing patients with basic tools that can help make it easier to gain and maintain healthy teeth and gums as well as education about the importance of oral health to the rest of their body. Drs. Payne and Boatner are both sincere and approachable doctors who aim at providing the treatment and care that they believe to be most successful and realistic for their patients.

My husband and I moved from Colorado to Texas in 2005 and are happy to call this area our home. In my free time I enjoy exercising, jogging, Pilates, hiking, fly-fishing, boating with friends, and any outdoor activities.

Katie Huskey

Registered Dental Hygienist

I provide routine dental cleanings and periodontal therapy for patients, as well as educating them on their specific dental needs to keep a healthy mouth. When a patient comes to see me I try to make them feel comfortable about their dental treatment. I enjoy seeing patients that have had good results from treatment and are excited about the results that they see. I truly love working for Dr. Payne and Dr. Boatner. I think they are both men of good moral character and know that they provide the best care possible for our patients.

Outside of work I enjoy working out, shopping, vacationing, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
